God is a Black Woman
Dr. Cleveland’s work, God Is a Black Woman: My Journey to Rediscover the Sacred Black Feminine, explores the healing and liberation found in reimagining God.
I’ve just started reading (listening to the audiobook) this book and I don’t have an opinion about it so far, but what I will say the reason I decided to read it is because I wanted to know more about this idea of the Sacred Black Feminine. I’d never heard that term before, but it feels like something I’m ready for.

Hi, I’m Aja.
I created this space to collect and share the media, ideas, histories, and conversations helping me rethink the world and my place within it as a Black American woman.
I’m interested in the ongoing process of relearning:
history, identity, culture, politics, memory, community, and ways of living that feel more human, intentional, and honest.
This is part archive, part exploration, part reconstruction.
