Why I’m Blogging and Blogcasting — But Not Podcasting

Hey, CEO Friend!

If you’ve been around my world for any amount of time, you already know this:

blogging is my home base.

It’s where I think, teach, clarify, and organize the ideas that help my audience move forward.

But lately, something kept nudging me — not toward podcasting (because honestly, that never felt like my lane), but toward something simpler, lighter, and way more aligned with how I actually consume content:

Blogcasting.

A blogcast isn’t a podcast.

It’s not a whole “show.”

It’s not weekly interviews or 45‑minute episodes.

It’s literally me reading my blog posts out loud so you can listen while you live your life.

And here’s why that matters:

Some days you can sit down and read.

Other days you’re rushing to work, driving across town, washing dishes, or doing a World Market walk-through for your sanity.

I don’t want my content to require perfect conditions.

I want it to meet you where you are.

So no — I’m not becoming a podcaster.

I’m doubling down on the thing that works for me (blogging) and expanding the way you can experience it (blogcasting).

This is the middle ground that finally feels right:

More accessibility. More connection. Zero extra pressure.

If I’m honest, this whole “blogcast” era found me — I didn’t chase it.

I love blogging.

I teach blogging.

Blogging is the backbone of my business, my clarity, and my authority.

But do I personally read all the blogs?

Absolutely not.

I’m listening to audio while I drive, audio while I wash dishes, audio while I work my 9–5, audio while I water my balcony plants that may or may not be thriving.

Audio is how I take in content — and I realized something important:

It doesn’t matter how your audience consumes the message. It matters that the message gets to them.

That’s where blogcasting came in.

Let me tell you exactly what it is, what it isn’t, and why this isn’t me “turning my back on blogging” — this is me doubling down on its power.

What is a blogcast?

A blogcast is simply the audio version of a blog post — literally me reading the post out loud.

That’s it.

No fancy intro music.

No “welcome back to the show” energy.

No guest interviews.

No hour-long deep dive.

Just:

One blog → Two formats.

A written version for readers, and an audio version for listeners.

Blogcasts are about accessibility and ease.

I’m not creating extra content — I’m expanding the content I already made.

This is the part where people get confused, so let’s ask the next logical question…

How is a blogcast different from a podcast?

A podcast is a standalone audio show.

A blogcast is an audio blog.

Here’s the quick breakdown:

A podcast is like a whole talk show.

A blogcast is like pressing “play” on the blog you already wrote.

One builds a show.

The other boosts the visibility and reach of your written content.

Why I’m adding blogcasting (without abandoning blogging)

If I’m honest, I had a moment where I thought:

“Girl… are you telling people to blog while admitting YOU don’t read all the blogs?”

But the truth is this:

Choosing to add audio to your blog doesn’t undermine blogging — it honors different learning styles.

Some people love reading (Danielle, my ideal client, absolutely reads when she has time).

Some people love listening (also Danielle, when she’s driving to a client or walking around World Market minding her business).

Audio doesn’t cancel blogging.

Audio supports blogging.

And let me give you the messy, human explanation behind why this matters to me:

1. I want my work to be accessible — even to busy people.

If you’re running a business, juggling a 9–5, running a home, fighting your way through decision fatigue — I don’t need you glued to a screen.

I need you to get the insight however you can.

Blogcasting lets you consume on the go.

2. Audio builds a deeper connection.

Your audience hears your tone.

They hear your emphasis.

They hear your energy.

And energy is part of your authority.

3. Blogcasting lets me repurpose without burning out.

My whole brand is “slow, simple, structured.”

Blogcasting lets me stay aligned with that.

No reinventing the wheel.

No double the workload.

No “do more content” hustle.

Just:

Write one good post → Record one clear read-through → Publish both.

That’s it.

But doesn’t this imply blogging isn’t enough?

No.

And here’s why.

Blogging is the backbone of your content ecosystem.Audio is the amplifier.

Think of it like this:

  • Your blog is permanent, searchable, and authority-building.

  • Your blogcast is portable, intimate, and convenient.

One is the home.

One is the guest bedroom — same house, different experience.

When I teach blogging inside Blog Hackers, I’m not teaching people how to become content machines.

I’m teaching them how to think, structure, and create content that works anywhere — text, audio, or video.

A good blog post is a script.

A good blog post is an outline.

A good blog post is a message.

Blogcasting proves that point beautifully.

Why a blogcast actually strengthens your written blogging strategy

This part is important.

Adding a blogcast:

  • Increases time-on-page (people hit play and stay longer)

  • Helps your SEO indirectly (longer engagement = better signals)

  • Makes your content more shareable

  • Works for accessibility (screen reader users, neurodivergent readers, etc.)

  • Allows people to binge your content the same way they binge podcasts

Blogcasting isn’t a side project.

It’s a strategic elevation.

Who is blogcasting for?

Three groups:

1. The busy CEO with no free time

She wants to learn, but she’s multitasking.

Audio meets her where she is.

2. The neurodivergent learner

Reading long posts can be draining.

Audio feels easier.

3. The person who loves your voice + energy

Your written words land.

Your voice hits different.

So... should you create a blogcast?

Short answer: If you write, and you want to deepen connection without doubling your workload — yes.

Longer answer:

Choose audio if:

  • You’re already writing consistently

  • You want to expand your authority

  • You want easier repurposing

  • You want to show up without being on camera

  • You want your audience to listen to you while cooking dinner

Don’t choose audio if:

  • You’re going to overthink it

  • You feel pressured to create “a proper podcast”

  • You’re trying to add 10 new platforms to your plate

Blogcasting is a simplicity tool.

Not a stress tool.

Final Thoughts: Blogging is the root. Blogcasting is the branch.

You’re not betraying blogging by adding audio.

You’re practicing what you preach:

Make your message work harder for youso you don’t have to work harder for it.

Blogging is your foundation.

Blogcasting is just your voice walking your audience through the house you built.

And that’s on CEO efficiency.
